ARENAL / MONTEVERDE - 5 nigths / 6 days

Day 1:


Welcome at the airport and transfer to your hotel.  Days Inn or similar.


Day 2:



Located northern side of Costa Rica, Arenal Volcano is the impressive natural phenomenon that attracts thousands of tourists for its permanent, extraordinary volcanic activity. On clear nights seem fireworks with intermittent explosions of ash and lava. To reach this wonder of nature we move to the north of the country, is inevitable to make a brief stop at the famous town of Sarchi, well known internationally for its hardworking craftsmen who give Sarchí renowned as the cradle  of the Craft Costa Rica.


Continuing our journey takes us through fields of various agricultural products, ornamental plants and cattle ranches to the village of La Fortuna for lunch at a cozy restaurant right in front of the volcano. This excellent location allows us early, the best view in the hope that the volcano is pleasing to visitors. Rest in one of the best hot springs in the area, which optionally can hire a massage or treatment, you should book early. To close with a flourish, an excellent dinner will be served, always with the best view of the volcano so you never miss a single opportunity to observe their incandescent light explosions. After dinner you are transferred to your hotel Volcano Lodge or similar.

Day 3:


After breakfast, at 7:50 PM, departure by minibus to Athica, where after a short  horseback ride  to reach the canopy, where the adventure of pure adrenaline begins : The Athica Canopy Arenal is located in Costa Rica, is within the Arenal Conservation Area and offers spectacular views of the volcano. It is the newest in the zone. A zip line based on  a steel cable, you run  slipping  from plataform to plataform.  It consists of 12 platforms and 8 cables, (starting from 80 meters, the longest covering a distance of 750 meters), plus two Tarzan style changes. They cover a distance of 3 kilometers long and an average of 38 meters. All equipment used in climbing, such as harnesses, helmets and pulleys. All cables and platforms  meet the highest standards of quality and safety and are certified by national and international institutions. At approximately 10: 30 back to the hotel to rest and / or enjoy the hotel facilities.     At 3:00 P.M. you will again picked up for your walk to the Arenal Volcano National Park.  Our Arenal Volcano tour takes  the visitors to the northwest side of the volcano. The tour begins with a hike which trail is chosen according to the lava flows that day, to guaranty the security of our clients. The options are:  The Toucans, The  Laguitos Site or the Silencio trail.   Once in the park, is possible to observe the great variety of plants, wildlife, magnificent lava rock formations and the Arenal Lake.  A great opportunity to see watch the sunset, in the area!   During the tour, our experienced guides will provide interesting and educational information regarding the history of the majestic mountain and the Arenal Volcano National Park.   Overnight at Volcano Lodge or similar.


Day 4:


After breakfast, depart for Monteverde. A town founded by the Quakers, who came from the United States, fleeing the war in the middle of last century. In a  embedded environment for the tropical cloud forest, where there are several biological reserves that are hosting more than 500 species of fauna among these fine birds, in which  the beautiful quetzal highlights. Arrival approximately half days. After checking into your hotel. In the afternoon departure to the private reserve to enjoy Selvatura Hanging Bridges representing a work of art in bridge engineering and construction, which employed the most advanced weight-bearing and other security measures. The tour consists of 8 bridges of different lengths ranging from 204 to 480 feet. The total route of the tour is about 1.8 miles. This tour provides the safest way to enjoy the cloud forest canopy and from the perspective of the birds.  At the end, transfer back to your hotel De Montaña Monteverde.  Overnight at the hotel de Montaña Monteverde.

Day 5:


Breakfast.  Departure at 6:45 AM. The tour consists in visiting the beautiful Montverde Cloud Forest Reserve. It is tropical cloud forest reserve worldwide famous   and one of the largest private protected areas in Costa Rica.  Visited by people from different countries nature lovers seeking to enjoy, appreciate and study the rich biodiversity of their ecosystems.  Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel and guide you to the reserve, where at the beginning you will see a 10 minutes DVD presentation with an introduction of the Monteverde reserve its flora and fauna, and the features of the cloud forest.  After we move to take a hike on the trails with our naturalist guide, which takes two hours duration.  After the walk, a humming bird garden is visited, where you will have the opportunity to appreciate a great diversity of specie of this type of bird. Then, return to your hotel, to get prepares to travel, at 1:30 P.M., with Interbus, towards San Jose.  Overnight at the Days Inn hotel.



Day 6:



Breakfast.  At the convenient time, transfer to the airport to board your plane back home.

- Transfers between segments with Interbus as mentioned in the program.
