Leaving San Jose through the fence of the majestic scenery of Braulio Carrillo National Park and get Sarapiqui can enjoy two attractions of great adventure: the canopy in the middle of a secondary forest with tall trees and after lunch, Rafting in the choppy waters of the Sarapiqui River. The canopy has a duration of one hour and thirty minutes gliding over the forest in ten cables of different lengths. Rafting on the Sarapiqui River has several levels of intensity ranging from level II to III, presenting a vibrant setting for those who wish to enjoy this exciting activity. A series of unexpected rapids combined with calm and relaxing stretches over a distance of 8 miles, make this an unforgettable experience for birdwatchers and nature lovers..

ARENAL VOLCANO AND THERMAL WATERS (ONE DAY)

 

Located north of Costa Rica, Arenal Volcano is the impressive natural phenomenon that attracts thousands of tourists for its permanent, extraordinary volcanic activity. On clear nights seem fireworks with intermittent explosions of ash and lava. To reach this wonder of nature we moved to the north of the country, is inevitable to make a brief stop at the famous town of Sarchi, well known internationally for its hardworking craftsmen who give Sarchí renowned as the cradle  of the Craft Costa Rica.

Continuing our journey takes us through fields of various agricultural products, ornamental plants and cattle ranches to the village of La Fortuna for lunch at a cozy restaurant right in front of the volcano. This excellent location allows us early, the best view in the hope that the volcano is pleasing to visitors. Rest in one of the best hot springs in the area, which optionally can hire a massage or treatment, you should book early. To close with a flourish, an excellent dinner will be served, always with the best view of the volcano so you never miss a single opportunity to observe their incandescent light explosions. After dinner we started our return trip to the City of San Jose.

MONTE ZURQUI CANOPY - Half day

 

Something different and fun, without long hours of traveling, the Monte Zurquí Canopy Tour is perfect, when you are staying in San Jose.


Monte Zurqui is a great place, located just 25 minutes from San Jose, surrounded by breathtaking views and abundant vegetation, where you will experience a great adventure.


Begin your unforgettable experience with a canopy, which includes a    trip hanging from a cable, between two plataforms placed on the top of two high trees, continues with a rappel (rope descent) from a suspension bridge, at a height of 9 meters and finishes with a cable "Superman" of 650 meters, where you can reach an estimated speed of 70kph.

We take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela and the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. During the ascent to the volcano we stop for a brief explanation on our golden bean, coffee, and continue the journey through cultures of ferns, flowers and strawberries.

 

At this point it becomes apparent change in temperature and varied vegetation, preparing us for the pleasures of the exuberant cloud forest of Poas Volcano. At the Volcano we will have time to observe the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles. Then take the road back to San Jose.

DOKA, POAS VOLCANO AND LA PAZ WATERFALLS (One day, Combo Tour)

 

We take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela and the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria and the famous Mango Park. During the ascent to the volcano we stop for a brief explanation on our golden bean, coffee, and continue the journey through cultures of ferns, flowers and strawberries.


This becomes apparent when the change in temperature and varied vegetation, preparing us for the pleasures of the exuberant cloud forest of Poas Volcano. At the Volcano we will have time to observe the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles. Then we will walk along the trail to the beautiful Botos Lagoon that will allow us to learn about the different ecosystems of the park. Continuing towards the Caribbean, stopping to discover the gardens of La Paz Waterfall, a natural park where we walk through spectacular trails that will lead us to Magia Blanca Falls (the largest and most spectacular of the area).


The park also visits the butterfly observatory and birds, besides the impressive hummingbird gallery, the aviary, the old house, a snake and frog pond. After the walk we will have a delicious lunch buffet and then begin the return to San Jose

We take the Pan-American Highway towards the city of Alajuela; we pass the Agriculture Monument, the Monument to Juan Santamaria, our national hero, and after the famous Mango Park.


Later we will stop to discover the gardens of La Paz Waterfall, a natural park where we walk through spectacular trails that will lead us to Magia Blanca Falls (the largest and most spectacular of the area).

 

 At the park we also visit the butterfly and birds observatory, besides the impressive hummingbird gallery, the aviary, the old house, a pond snakes and frogs. After the walk we have a delicious buffet lunch, and then the return to San Jose begins.

IRAZÚ VOLCANO, OROSI  VALLY  AND LANKESTER GARDEN

 

We take the Pan-American Highway to the South, to start ascending the giant Irazu. The winding road travels through fertile lands cultivated with vegetables of all kinds, as we observe a lovely panoramic view. At the top of the volcano can observe the main craters and on a clear day you could spot the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

 

As we descend to the city of Cartago, stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels, who according to religious custom is a place of pilgrimage for many believers. After visiting the Basilica de los Angeles in Cartago city, we moved to the Lankester Gardens, a research center at the University of Costa Rica that protects more than 800 species of orchids and bromeliads as well as countless other plants. We will continue to the Valley of Orosi where creation overflows in unparallel beauty. You can visit one of the few remaining colonial churches and we will stop for lunch at a local restaurant. On our tour you can observe the rustic "House of the Dreamer", an example of Costa Rican art.

 We will continue to the Valley of Orosi where creation overflows in of unsurpassed beauty. You can visit one of the few remaining colonial churches today and we will stop for a delicious lunch. Before beginning our return we visit the rustic Dreamer House, example of Costa Rican art.
